JURISDICTION
The jurisdiction of the erstwhile Guwahati Central Excise & Service Tax Commissionerate (now CGST Commissionerate, Guwahati) has been reorganized on account of the implementation of the Goods & Services Act 2017 which had come into force w.e.f. 01.07.2017, vide Notification No. 13/2017-CE(NT) Dated 09.06.2017.
The territorial jurisdiction of the reorganized Commissionerate is spread over the Districts of Kamrup (Metro), Kamrup (Rural), Baksa, Kokrajhar, Bongaigon, Chirang, Barapeta, Dhubri, South Salmara-Mankachar, Nalbari, Goalpara, Morigaon, Nagoan, Hojai, East Karbi Anglong, West Karbi Anglong, Dima Hasao, Cachar, Hailakandi and Karimganj in the state of Assam.
The headquarters of the Guwahati Commissionerate is at Guwahati with four Divisions having headquarters at Guwahati (for Guwahati-I & Guwahati-II Divisions), Bongaigaon (Dhubri) & Silchar respectively. Central GST Commissionerate, Guwahati comprises of the following 4 (four) Divisions and 26 (twenty-six) Ranges.|
